Day 3
Govindghat - Pulna - Ghangaria (6 kms drive and 7.5 kms trek / 2.30-3 hrs)
Morning after breakfast can take shuttle cab for Pulna (By own). After a drive of 6 kms the trekker will reach to the beautiful village Pulna, which is at an altitude of 2040 m. After that trekker will trek 7.5 km from Pulna and then will reach Ghangaria. After reaching Ghangaria the trekkers will be treated with a hot dinner and overnight stay in hotel. As Pulna is the last major town before the trek starts, it is important that all trekking equipments and other essentials are procured before starting the trek to Valley of Flower/ Hemkund Sahib.
Important Essentials things that you can carry with you while you were trekking for Valley of flower & Hemkund Sahib.
1. Trekking Shoes/ waterproof.
2. Raincoat.
3. Medicine (like fever, Painkiller).
4. Small Snacks / Pack Lunch.
5. Spare Jacket.
6. Water Bottle
7. Trekking Stick etc.
Gurdwara Hemkund Sahib is a Sikh place of worship (gurdwara) and pilgrimage site in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand, India. It is devoted to Guru Gobind Singh (1666–1708), the tenth Sikh Guru, and finds mention in Dasam Granth. With its setting of a glacial lake surrounded by seven mountain peaks, each adorned by a Nishan Sahib on its cliff, it is according to the Survey of India located in the Garhwal Himalaya at an elevation of 4,572 metres (15,000 feet).[3][4] It is approached from Govindghat on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway. The main town near Gobindghat is Joshimath. The elevation of the lake at Hemkund is approximately 15,000 feet.
